Task 3: Digital Triptych - Exploring Scott McCloud's Transitions

1. Moodboard

This task is to apply Scott McCloud's theory on transitions to create a digital triptych, comprising three panels: one before, one during (climactic turning point), and one after a significant event. Each panel will represent a different transition type from McCloud's theory. There are some transitional techniques used by Scott McCloud, such as moment-to-moment, action-to-action, subject-to-subject, scene-to-scene, and aspect-to-aspect.

2. Sketches

Refer to the story of Bloody Mary, I decided to draw something like a lady is looking in the mirror then the Bloody Mary appears. For the last part of the story, I consult Mr.Hafiz through face-to-face class. He suggested me to draw blood dripping in the mirror. So, there's only handprint with blood and blood dripping down on the surface of mirror. Then the lady and Bloody Mary disappear together.

FEEDBACK

Mr.Hafiz told me to put Bloody Mary in the second scene. The first scene just a lady looking in mirror. Mr.Hafiz told me to make the last scene left only the bloody handprints so I removed the Bloody Mary in the last scene.

In my first attempt of task 2, Mr.Hafiz said he did not understand the illustration I designed. The animation is also very rough, make it smoother will be better. So, I redo the second scene and animation after receiving Mr.Hafiz's feedback for task 3.


REFLECTION

Experience
Although this task is just two weeks time, I enjoy changing some details after consulting Mr.Hafiz. Getting his approval for my work is very satisfying. I use only simple shapes, lines and pen tool to complete this task. 

Observations
I observed that I do not have enough idea while doing this task. I consulted Mr.Hafiz and use his feedback for my work to continue designing in Illustrator. I should do more research before I start every task in the future.

Findings
I found that this module is what I wish to do in the future.
